Catrin Mathias BSc (Hons) MRICS

Catrin has in excess of 10 years property experience and has worked for some of the largest multinational property companies in the world. She started her career within the Welsh Development Agency where a varied role saw her covering both L&T and Rating as well as primarily dealing with asset management. From here, Catrin's career took her first to Bristol and then a vocational placement saw her move to the Czech Republic for two years to head up the Valuation team in Prague. Catrin's specialisations therefore fall into the following categories:-

Russell Hobbs B.A., B.S.c. M.R.I.C.S.

Russell’s career began within a South West London based Chartered Surveying firm assisting with mortgage valuations; property management; commercial valuations and business rates appeals.

He then moved to the Wimbledon Valuation Office where he spent 15 years mainly applying himself to business rates appeals; Council and National Tax valuations. He joins CVS bringing with him the wealth of knowledge gained within the Valuation Office which is of major significance when dealing with business rates appeals.

Stephen Budd Dip VEM MRICS

Stephen has over 20 years experience as a chartered surveyor, including running his own rating company and has worked in both the public and private sector. He  specialises in rating , rent review and lease renewal work covering the South West and South Wales.

Martin Brownstone Bsc Hons MRICS

Martin has over 20 years experience dealing with commercial property and have worked as a consultant with CVS for over 8 years. Having worked as a Chartered Surveyor in the private sector, for corporate occupiers and landlord investor he is well placed to provide sound advise in broking deals which is applied extensively in rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations for types of commercial property. He works with household name clients and small businesses and conducts forensic audits of historic payments for service charges, rents and rating liabilities.

Mark Saunders FRICS IRRV

Mark started in the VOA in the West Country and worked for 13 years in Cornwall and the Midlands.

He then moved into Private Practice in 1988 and has solely handled Rating work since that date. He has worked in Birmingham, London and Manchester whilst in Private Practice and in 2009 returned to the West Country and handles Rating work throughout the south west of England.

Mark is a Fellow of the RICS, a member of the IRRV and a member of the Rating Surveyors Association.

Philip Wright MRICS

New to CVS, most of Philip’s working experience has been within the rating industry and has spent 20 years with the Valuation Office and more recently 15 years have been spent working within the private sector. His specific specialisation is as a General Rating Practitioner.

James Towersey BSc Hons MRICS

James Towersey has worked as a Chartered Surveyor for over 20 years working in the private sector James mainly specialises in Business Rate primarily gaining large RV reductions for client such as an 82% reduction for a renowned tourist facility. James also specialises in the following areas:
