Dennis Broughton MSc MRICS

Dennis has worked within property for most of his professional career. He initially qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in Denmark before moving to the UK in 2000, where he has subsequently become MRICS. He is specialised within the area of rating and has a broad experience of dealing with different types of properties, ranging from aluminium smelters and power stations to sports clubs and general offices and shops. He has experience of all rating areas including rating appeals, rates management and rates auditing. His experience further covers giving advice on:

John Hayward BSc (Hons) MRICS ACIArb

John has over 10 years of experience in the property sector and was Vice Chair for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Yorkshire & Humber Regional Board between 2008 and 2010. John has worked for three of the top ten commercial property consultancies in Leeds and Bristol and rose to the level of Partner before starting his own property company. He is familiar with complex negotiations and regularly acts as an Expert Witness in commercial property disputes. He specialises in the following areas:

Harry Pitt BSc MRICS

Harry has worked as a Chartered Surveyor in the private sector for the last 10 years.  This has included working for some of the largest and most prominent UK and European companies. His main area of expertise is in acting on behalf of both the private and public sector in negotiating Business Rates Appeals but he also specialises in:

Graeme Herron MRICS

Prior to CVS, Graeme had worked for three of the UK’s predominantly specialised rating forces for the past 20 years after graduating with a BSC in Urban Land Economics. This familiarity with the different methodologies utilised by each of the rating organizations has led to his expertise as a General Rating Practitioner.

Paul Burnett (Head of Rating)

Paul Burnett is one of CVS’s most experienced rating Surveyors, having worked in the rating business for his entire career, which spans 35 years. Starting in the Valuation Office as a Valuation Clerk, Paul rose through the ranks to Valuation Executive before moving from the public sector to private to expand his all round rating experience. After working in various firms, he finally established himself as the CVS Rating Surveyor for Yorkshire & Lincolnshire. Following 3 successful years, Paul was promoted to Head of Rating, and is now responsible for the entire nationwide network of CVS surveyors. He is a specialist in the following areas: -
