Chris is CVS Senior Rating Consultant. He has 45 years experience as a valuer and is a RICS Rating Diploma Holder.

Martin Brownstone Bsc Hons MRICS

Martin has over 20 years experience dealing with commercial property and have worked as a consultant with CVS for over 8 years. Having worked as a Chartered Surveyor in the private sector, for corporate occupiers and landlord investor he is well placed to provide sound advise in broking deals which is applied extensively in rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations for types of commercial property. He works with household name clients and small businesses and conducts forensic audits of historic payments for service charges, rents and rating liabilities.

Peter Barney

After graduating with a degree in Estates Management, Peter's career led him to the Valuation Office where he spent over six years, honing the specialist rating skills he has now brought with him to CVS. This knowledge has proved invaluable in the 12 years Peter has been with the company, in the progression and development of the rating department within the London area.

Philip Wright MRICS

New to CVS, most of Philip’s working experience has been within the rating industry and has spent 20 years with the Valuation Office and more recently 15 years have been spent working within the private sector. His specific specialisation is as a General Rating Practitioner.

Paul Burnett (Head of Rating)

Paul Burnett is one of CVS’s most experienced rating Surveyors, having worked in the rating business for his entire career, which spans 35 years. Starting in the Valuation Office as a Valuation Clerk, Paul rose through the ranks to Valuation Executive before moving from the public sector to private to expand his all round rating experience. After working in various firms, he finally established himself as the CVS Rating Surveyor for Yorkshire & Lincolnshire. Following 3 successful years, Paul was promoted to Head of Rating, and is now responsible for the entire nationwide network of CVS surveyors. He is a specialist in the following areas: -

Philip Emerick

Philip’s extensive experience in surveying has spanned four decades and is as varied as someone within the industry can be. From his post at the Valuation Office, his time as a land agent to an auctioneer Philip’s career has encompassed nearly every facet of the trade. In addition to his widespread knowledge of offices, shops and industrial property he has particular rating expertise in trade valuations such as licensed property, hotels, petrol stations, and horse racing together with valuations based on construction cost.

Martin Shapcott has over 35 years experience as a surveyor with just under 20 years working directly for the Government Valuation Office.
